When your HP drop to 0 you die. Depending on the battle following happens to you.

  • Battles with Zombies (except Elite):
    • instantly respawn in Nightstone
    • regain 50 HP (irregardless of max HP)
    • receive a penalty
  • Elite battles:
    • instantly respawn in Nightstone
    • regain 50 HP (irregardless of max HP)
  • PvP battles in Arena:
    • respawn in the Area where the battle was initiated
    • regain 50 HP (irregardless of max HP)

Penalty[]

Dying in a battle with Zombies (except Elite battles) incurs a penalty of losing the entire content of one random slot either in your Pockets, Backpack or equipped Items or Consumables. Empty slots are ignored, meaning you always lose something.

If you lose your equipped Backpack, you also lose the content of all slots which the Backpack provided.

Mitigation[]

If death is unavoidable the effects of the penalty can be mitigated by affecting the chance of losing more valuable items.

Firstly placing unimportant items in the Backpack slots and keeping the crucial items in Pockets or equipped slots reduced the chance of their loss in case of the Backpack loss.

Secondly filling all the slots reduces the chance on all the slots including the important ones. Either fill the free slots with disposable items (e.g. by splitting berries) of split the stacks of important items into more slots.

Death abuse[]

Entering a loosing battle without death penalty can be used to an advantage. The possible trade-off is a bit of loss of the Durability on items and HP and resetting the Arena timer. The best possible outcome comes while entering the battle with unequipped items and less than 50 HP.

  • Free Teleport - Getting back fast to Nightstone without spending any Energy. It was patched in a recent update. The player respawns at the same spot where the arena battle was initiated in case of a defeat.
  • Free Heal - When low on health and being low or out of healing items.
